De Buys Scott

DeBuys has in excess of 34 years of experience gained in South Africa, Africa and Internationally. He has vast experience in a wide variety of sectors and services. He began his career in the merchant banking services sector where he was responsible for various aspects of corporate finance, ranging from listings and disposals to mergers and acquisitions. He was a Senior Partner at KPMG for 20 years in the Deal Advisory team heading the Infrastructure and Financing unit in Africa. He has vast experience in transaction advisory services on Public-Private-Partnerships; corporate & project finance; procurement processes; disposals and capital-raising. He has worked across various sectors including passenger rail, health, hospitals, power and office accommodation for national government departments.

Wine: I rather like a good bottle of wine

Kruger Park: Need one say more? Scarcely a few months go by without a trip to Kruger to ease life’s stresses (usually accompanied by (Wine) above)

Golf: One of my favourite sports

Book: I love reading about sport and sporting legends and my bookshelf is testament to that

Vanessa Snyman

Vanessa has in excess of 23 years of experience gained in South Africa, London, Amsterdam and Southern Africa. She has worked on projects in various capacities including working for a development funding institution, being part of power project development teams, and in an advisory capacity as an Associate Director in the Deal Advisory, Infrastructure and Financing unit at KPMG.
She has experience in areas including feasibility studies, project development, financial modelling, project finance, procurement, transaction advisory, tariff modelling and government capacity building. She works across the energy and mining sectors.

Plants – my attempt at planting herbs from seed –this represents my ongoing battle to live a healthy and balanced life

Books – like Neema I love cookbooks and I also like the odd science or thought provoking book.

Anri Bernot

Anri has 15 years of experience with her main area of expertise being advising on the full lifecycle of large infrastructure and PPP transactions from feasibility studies through to procurement. In addition she has expertise in financial advisory services mainly to the public sector and has specialist project management experience. Anri was a Senior Manager at KPMG in the Deal Advisory, Infrastructure and Financing unit . Before this she also worked for ICI plc in London and prior to that for Deloitte & Touché LLP locally and internationally (America (Washington DC, Miami, San Jose) and Australia).
Teddy bear: His name in “cuddy” and he is always in my handbag, given to me by the kids to hug and cuddle when I miss them

Neema Isa

Neema has over 9 years of professional experience and is a registered PRINCE 2 Practitioner. Over the last three years, Neema has primarily focused on feasibility studies, business case development, procurement and bid management. She was a Manager in the Deal Advisory, Infrastructure and Financing unit at KPMG.

She has also conducted extensive research into the infrastructure needs and development in Sub-Saharan Africa, culminating in her contribution of content for the following publications:

  • Sub-Saharan African Power Outlook (2014); and
  • The KPMG & Mail & Guardian Infrastructure Supplement Series (2015.

Old school telephone – I can be a bit of an old soul, with a penchant for the classics
